HELLO NO. 11! Check Out These Amazing Facts About November

It's the 11th month, people! I'm curious about how your Month 1-10 went; wanna share? I know mine was kinda eventful. Whatever the case though, it's worth appreciating the fact that you're still here. You know, every second you spend with breath in you is another chance to be the YOU you've always wanted to be; to achieve those dreams; to fulfill purpose! So, i'm not just wishing you Happy New Month, i'm charging you to be the best you can be this November...

Here are some cool facts about the month of November. To be honest, some really cracked me up. See if you'll feel that way after reading:

1.

November gets its name from the Romans. It was the 9th month in their Calendar, and still retained its name after the Julian calendar reform which made it the 11th month.

2.

The Anglo-Saxons used to call November 'Blotmonath' {Month of Blood or Sacrifice}, while the Dutch called it Slaatchmand {Slaughter Month}. Kinda creepy, eh?

3.

Remember Late Gen. Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu, military governor of the then Eastern region, and leader of Biafra? He was born on November 4th, 1933.

November begins on the same day of the week as March does, and ends on the same day of the week as August does... Every freaking time!

5.

Popular U.S holiday, Thanksgiving, is celebrated on every 4th Thursday of November.

November is the only month not metioned in any of Shakespeare's works. Wonder what the guy had against it. hehehe

In November 2013, the Golden Eaglets made history as the first country to win the FIFA U-17 world cup for the 4th time.

So, according to a ClearBlue pregnancy testing research*, this is the least likely month for women to want to have babies in. It looks like the research was limited to Britain but the fact of it still got me cracking. Biko, one research company should come and do this in Nigeria too, abi?
